You steer and manage the drone’s position. Altitude hold can help maintain height; it does not establish satellite position holding.

Optical flow may help with hovering under suitable conditions. It is a different system from GPS.

GPS-based RTH uses a recorded home point to guide a compatible drone back. The return path, height and triggers depend on the model.

A “one-key return” label alone does not establish GPS navigation. Check the manual for what the button actually does.

Understand RTH

GPS does not automatically mean Return to Home or obstacle avoidance. A drone’s price is not proof of any of these features.

    Record the home point

    For GPS-based RTH, confirm a suitable satellite signal and a recorded home point before take-off. Follow the model’s setup instructions.

    Check the return behaviour

    Button-activated return, low-battery return and signal-loss return are separate behaviours. Check which are supported and the return-height settings.

    Keep the route clear

    RTH does not guarantee obstacle avoidance or a successful recovery. Follow the manual and monitor the flight, surroundings and battery.

A few useful distinctions.

Is the cheapest drone always the easiest to fly?

Price alone does not establish how easy a drone is to control. Compare the controller, size and instructions as well as any confirmed position-assistance features.

Does a camera mean GPS is included?

No. The camera and the positioning system are separate. Camera resolution, image stabilisation and GPS each need to be checked for the supplied configuration.

Is altitude hold the same as GPS?

No. Holding height is different from holding a geographic position. Likewise, headless mode changes how directional inputs are interpreted; it does not establish GPS navigation.

What does “GPS listed” mean here?

The existing product information describes GPS. We have not yet confirmed the supplied hardware or its Return to Home behaviour against an exact manual or supplier specification. The product page shows the current status.
